OnePlus 8 Pro Launch Features

The OnePlus 8 Pro is one of the most anticipated launches this year. And while leaks keep popping up, many details seem speculative so take it with a grain of salt! The question on everyone’s mind is, of course, features.

What features does the OnePlus 8 Pro offer, and what is its price? Continue reading to learn what we know now as we approach the official launch date.

Solid Front Display

It seems more and more phone designs ditch bevels and cut-outs. Instead, the OnePlus 8 Pro offers a solid front display, wrapping around its curved corners. Rather than dedicating space to sensors, you receive a Punch Hole at the top. This small opening is for the forward-facing camera.

The phone may still retain its fingerprint sensor, only without the added button. If it does keep this security feature, it likely integrates with the display.

Suggested Hardware Specs

A core focus of the new phone is improving its display. The previous MediaTek didn’t offer the power users needed to appreciate it fully. Although few details are confirmed, the company has increased its leaks of specs. Chief among them is the Punch Hole Display, which likely uses an upgraded Snapdragon 865.

In addition to the physical features, the display also offers a wider 6.77” screen. And with a 120 Hz refresh rate, it’s the clearest picture they have had.

Launch Colors

While many hardware colors come and go, few arrive at launch. That said, there are a few options that are all but official.

For starters, there is always the Standard Gray look, offering a clean metallic finish. Or, to stay understated and well-dressed, Onyx Black is a professional choice.

Interstellar Glow features a more gradient style look, similar to sunset oranges and purples. Finally, Galactic Green seems more “minty-colored” than extraterrestrial, but still a smart look for those wanting a quirky hint of color.

OnePlus 8 Pro Camera Features

Everyone wants to know about the camera, right? Interestingly, OnePlus seems to gun for Samsung rather than Apple or Google. And while the 8 Pro isn’t on their level, we have to say: it seems like it’s darn near close.

The new model shows three rear cameras which suggests there will be a main and two support lenses. Users will likely have a 48-MP primary camera with a 3x-30x zoom and depth sensors. This isn’t certain, but that’s our best guess from the available information right now.

It is already comparable, if not better, than much of Samsung’s line. So while the OnePlus 8 Pro might not be an iPhone, it’s already making waves.

Battery and Charging Specs

Previously, the company has stood against wireless charging in favor of faster wired systems. However, the Pro model could potentially see the feature as an option.

The proposed 4510 mAh battery may offer reverse charging to other devices. And with wireless and wired charging, you have options for different uses.

Even with wireless charging, the company boasts 30-watt speeds. As it has a beefed-up display, you’ll want the added power and charging capabilities.

OnePlus 8 Pro Launch Date

So when can we all get our hands on it? That’s the burning question. The OnePlus 8 line is launching soon, likely mid-April barring any further interruptions. And the top model of the line, the 8 Pro, should fetch around $799.

Factors affecting price are possible camera upgrades to a fourth rear lens. Or, there may be screen width options or battery sizes at launch.

Either way, the OnePlus 8 Pro is comparable to even established smartphone brands. And come April 14th, it could capture its best response yet.
